| Welcome to Pigwallow! Introducing the Pigwallow Pictorian, Martha Elizabeth Dawson. Martha called us out of the blue one day and asked if she could send samples of her work. Sure, why not? Little did we know that it would lead not only to a new line of stamps, but to giddy afternoon meetings complete with home baked goodies, uncontrollable giggling, and hours of exchanging creative ideas. |
| Martha makes her home with her
family in a tiny cottage in the woods of Peterborough, New
Hampshire, which surprisingly enough, bears a striking resemblance
to Pigwallow. There at the kitchen table amid piles of books, quilt projects, and the happy hum of daily life, she creates the Pigmalions, a family of pigs, and a full array of their bunny and chicken companions. |
| Martha is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and credits the illustrator and quirky personality, Edward Gorey, with her conversion to pen and ink work. In her spare time Martha reads cookbooks like novels, bakes a mean chocolate cake, and savors the dream of selling all their worldly possessions and traveling about the country in an Air Stream named Pig's Folley! |
